Teacher, then accountant, now a builder of systems

Shamir George, Jeddah

I'm Shamir George, based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. My career has been a steady move from explaining things, to running the numbers behind them, to building the machines that do both at scale.

I spent my early years teaching IGCSE Computer Science and Science across several international schools — learning how people actually come to understand difficult material. Then I moved into accounting and project management at Ancient House Contracting, where I've spent years close to the real mechanics of a business: invoices, VAT, reconciliations, project cash, and the slow manual work that eats a small firm's time.

That combination — teacher who can explain, accountant who respects the details, project manager who ships — is why I build what I build. I taught myself to code the pipelines that now produce my courses and tools, because the most valuable thing I own is attention, and software is how you stop spending it on the same task twice.

What I value

  • Primary sources over hearsay. My Saudi calculators cite the actual article of law. My courses are researched, not paraphrased.
  • Make it simple, then make it run itself. Clarity first; automation second.
  • Ship and verify. Real things in the world, checked against reality — not slideware.
